A hero who tragically miscarried her unborn baby while chasing a crack-addicted armed robber out of a store in England has received a bravery award.
Kirsty Marks, 28, was working with Louise Archer at The Co-op in Moredon, Swindon, at 9:10 p.m. on May 11 when Luke O'Brien entered with a knife, reports the Swindon Advertiser.
The thug jumped on the counter and demanded cash from the register, before threatening to kill the duo.
He managed to scoop up more than $1,000 in bills before Archer slammed the drawer shut on his hands.
O'Brien fled into the darkness outside. Marks, who didn't know she was 9 weeks pregnant, gave chase. But she soon lost sight of the speedy crook.
Sadly, the stress and trauma brought on by the terrifying incident saw her suffer a miscarriage.
